Since 1996, the Professor Schwabe Foundation at TUD celebrates exceptional research by presenting the Professor Schwabe Prize to outstanding master’s and doctoral theses in physical chemistry or in applied sensor research that integrates advanced biochemical or electrochemical elements.
Nomination Process
Master’s or doctoral theses submitted at TU Dresden between 1 January 2022 and 28 February 2025 are eligible and candidates should be nominated by professors at TU Dresden. The deadline for submitting nominations is 31 October 2025. Nominations should be sent via email to Ines Kube, Chair of Physical Chemistry at the Faculty of Chemistry, TU Dresden, and must include:
- Submission form
- Thesis (PDF)
- Nominee’s list of publication
- Letter of recommendation (optional)
Selection criteria and prizes
The scientific board of the Professor Schwabe Foundation will judge submissions based on scientific excellence, impact and relevance, quality of presentation, academic achievement, and future potential. The prizes awarded are €600 for a doctoral thesis and €400 for a master’s thesis.
